Father-Daughter Duo Completes Historic Ski Tour Across Alberta to Support Youth Mentorship

Greg Scott and his daughter Hali have achieved a remarkable feat by completing the Skadi Tour, skiing across all 39 lift-serviced ski areas in Alberta within one winter season. This journey not only sets a new benchmark in the skiing community but also shines a spotlight on the importance of youth and parent/mentor collaborations through their work with the Tidbits of Change Foundation.

The Scotts' adventure covered 8,300 kilometres, traversing Alberta's varied landscapes from the Cypress Hills in the southeast to remote areas like Vista Ridge in Fort McMurray and Blue Ridge Mountain Resort in La Crete. Their efforts follow a similar successful tour in British Columbia, where they skied 44 areas in just 42 days, further cementing their commitment to promoting outdoor activities and mentorship.

Engaging with communities along the way, the duo utilized social media to share their journey, amassing nearly two million interactions on Instagram. Their innovative content, including 'Chairlift Chatter' interviews with local ski legends, has played a pivotal role in highlighting the rich culture and camaraderie within the skiing community.

The tour's success was bolstered by the support of sponsors such as HEAD skis, Kal-Tire, Descente, Sundance Ski & Snowboard Shop, and Hummingbird Micro Homes. Notably, HEAD and Kal-Tire have extended their support by contributing additional youth bursaries to the Tidbits of Change Foundation, further aiding its mission to foster positive change through mentorship.

Concluding their journey at Mt. Norquay Ski Resort in the Banff area, the Scotts' tour is more than a personal achievement; it's a testament to the power of community, collaboration, and the enduring spirit of giving back.
