Bandcamp and Music Industry Unite to Support Musicians Affected by Southern California Wildfires

In a remarkable show of solidarity, Bandcamp, alongside key music industry partners, has announced a 24-hour fundraising event to support musicians and music professionals affected by the devastating Southern California wildfires. On February 7th, from midnight to midnight PST, Bandcamp will donate 100% of its revenue to MusiCares, a nonprofit dedicated to offering emergency assistance to those in the music industry facing crises. This initiative not only highlights the challenges faced by artists and professionals in the wake of natural disasters but also underscores the music community's resilience and capacity for collective action.

The collaboration includes notable industry names such as A2IM, Harman, Lagunitas, Roland, Shure, Victrola, and WIN, reflecting a broad-based commitment to supporting the Los Angeles music scene. Dan Melnick, Bandcamp's General Manager, pointed out the profound impact of the wildfires on the local music community, affecting everyone from musicians to recording studios. Bryan Biniak of Songtradr emphasized the critical role platforms like Bandcamp play in enabling artists to sustain their creative endeavors during tough times.

MusiCares Executive Director Laura Segura expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting its alignment with the organization's mission to provide essential support to music professionals in need. A2IM President Dr. Richard James Burgess lauded the effort as a testament to the music community's strength and unity.
