Comcast RISE Program to Inject Over $3 Million into King County Small Businesses

In a significant boost to small businesses in King County, Comcast has announced its RISE program will provide over $3 million in support to local entrepreneurs. This initiative is designed to offer a lifeline to small businesses grappling with the economic pressures of inflation and revenue challenges, as highlighted by recent U.S. Chamber of Commerce data. The program's comprehensive grant packages aim to enhance operational capabilities and resilience among 100 selected businesses.

The Comcast RISE program aligns with Mayor Bruce Harrell's economic development strategy, offering a multifaceted support package to each recipient. This includes a $5,000 monetary grant, a technology makeover, creative production services, media scheduling, educational resources, and business consultation services. Such resources are critical at a time when 58% of small business owners cite inflation as their top concern, and more than one-third are facing revenue challenges at the highest rate since 2021.

Eligible small businesses in King County have the opportunity to apply for the Comcast RISE program from May 1-31, with winners announced in August. Community partner organizations, including the Bellevue Chamber, Greater Seattle Business Association, and Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, are offering free information sessions to assist potential applicants. This initiative places King County among five regions selected by Comcast for the RISE program, alongside Boston, Grand Rapids, Nashville, and South Valley.

Since its inception in late 2020, the RISE program has supported 14,000 entrepreneurs nationwide, underscoring Comcast's commitment to small business sustainability. The program is a key component of Comcast's broader Project UP initiative, which seeks to create digital opportunities and support business growth. By providing targeted resources, Comcast aims to help small businesses not only stabilize but also innovate, contributing to the resilience of local economies.
