UNCF Chicago's 25th Annual Black & White Ball to Spotlight Educational Opportunities for Minority Students

The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Chicago is set to host its 25th Annual Black & White Ball on June 14, 2025, at THE GERAGHTY in Chicago. This year's event, themed "A Mind Is..."®, not only celebrates a quarter-century of fostering educational opportunities for minority students but also aims to raise $1 million for scholarships. The gala will honor Ariel Investments with the "A Mind Is..." Corporate Award and Nadia Rawlinson, Co-owner and Operating Chair of the Chicago Sky, with the "A Mind Is..." Trailblazer Award, recognizing their contributions to education and community.

Sherina Edwards, Gala Chair and an alumna of Howard University and Spelman College, highlighted the event's significance in continuing UNCF's 81-year legacy of transforming lives through education. The organization's impact is profound, with 541 scholarships awarded to Illinois students from 2022 to 2023 alone. Nationwide, UNCF supports over 60,000 students across more than 1,100 colleges and universities, playing a pivotal role in minority higher education.

The evening promises to be both inspirational and entertaining, featuring performances by the R & B group "After 7" and encouraging guests to don formal black and/or white attire, a nod to the event's original aesthetic. Beyond the glamour, the gala underscores UNCF's iconic motto, emphasizing the value of investing in minds and the transformative power of education.
