Comfort Area Foundation Launches Flood Relief Fund for Texas Hill Country

The Comfort Area Foundation (CAF) has established the Comfort Flood Relief Fund in response to the catastrophic floods that impacted the Texas Hill Country on July 4th, 2025. These floods have left a trail of destruction, notably in Center Point, TX, where the local fire station was obliterated, and across Kendall and Kerr Counties, forcing residents to confront the immense challenge of rebuilding their lives.

With a quarter-century of service to the region, CAF is mobilizing donations to offer both immediate aid and sustained support to those affected. The foundation pledges that every cent contributed will be channeled directly to reputable local nonprofits, first responders, and recovery projects, ensuring the funds are utilized within the community to foster recovery.

Chris Havens, CAF's Board President, emphasized the communal nature of the recovery process, remarking, "In small towns like ours, recovery isn't handled by agencies—it’s neighbors helping neighbors. We’re committed to making sure every dollar reaches the people who need it most."

The floods have highlighted the critical need for CAF's efforts, particularly in light of the Vision 2050 planning initiative, which included the installation of an early warning siren system in Comfort to bolster the community's preparedness for environmental threats and expansion.
